Trees for Idaho
Why I’m planting trees for Idaho
1). We’ve lost about 1,000 trees along the roadside in the Payette River Canyon and north to McCall. I’m working with the Idaho Transportation Department to institute a study of that tree die-off so we can find out what’s causing it. Meanwhile, I plan to plant 1,000 trees to make up for those that have died. The new trees won’t be planted in the canyon because we don’t yet know what is causing the die-off. They will be planted in the Treasure Valley.
2) Campaigns use many resources that put carbon into the atmosphere (printing, mailing, online communications, etc.). I want to help offset that by planting trees to capture carbon.
3). It’s a family tradition. My great-grandparents, Nels and Emma Just, were homesteaders in Southeastern Idaho. Through the 1873 Timber Culture Act, they increased the size of their homestead by planting hundreds of trees in the Blackfoot River Valley.

How You Can Help
Make a $10 donation to Trees for Idaho. Every penny will go to the Treasure Valley Canopy Network's tree-planting work. Regardless of how much we raise, I will add my personal funds to ensure we devote at least $1,000 to the project and that previous donations are not used.

What You’ll Get
You’ll get the personal satisfaction of doing something good for future generations while helping me renew the resources I've used in my campaign. Oh, and you’ll also get a sticker for your laptop, water bottle, or car window, showing that you’re an excellent human being!

Planting Trees
Your donation will support Treasure Valley Canopy Network's programs, which actively plan, plant, and care for trees across Idaho's Treasure Valley. If you want to learn more about the Network, connect with TVCN at www.TVCanopy.net and volunteer here to join a future planting event.
